Too long…

Wow! Apparently it has been almost 2 months since I have blogged. Summer time gets the best of me, I guess. Not that we have been that busy but I just haven’t taken the time to blog. So what have we been up to?

  • If  you are my friend on facebook or twitter then  you know that I have started selling Thirty-One products. I love it and love making a little extra cash. I am not going to go into full promotion mode here but I am excited about the new FALL catalog!!
  • Korbyn is now 15 almost 16 months old. He is growing like crazy and I just want him to slow down a little bit. He walks, talks, and is just everywhere. He loves playing outside and I am so glad it is finally cooling off a little bit around here. I hate to admit it but it has just been too hot to be outside for long periods of time this summer here. 023

  • Jayci had a pretty good summer I think. We started out the summer by going to every VBS we could find with some friends of ours. That was fun for a bit. She got sassier by the minute I think. She is a pretty good kid but she is definitely like her momma. Full of Sass!

  • This week Jayci started first grade. She was so excited to go back to school and be with her friends. I was kind of sad but excited at the same time. Korbyn and I miss her during the day but we are starting to figure out our daily routine with just each other as well.

First day of 1st grade: 8/20/2012

1ST DAY OF 1ST GRADE 002

Look how big she looks! I just can’t help but see lots of trouble in our future. Please start praying for me NOW! HA

1ST DAY OF 1ST GRADE 011

Okay well that is not much of an update but it’s all I got for now. I hear Korbyn starting to wake up from his nap. I am going to try and get better about this whole blogging stuff. Until next time!

A little catching up…

So yea I have a little catching up to do! (End of the year softball party and Father’s Day)

To start we had our end of the year softball party at one of the Travelers Games earlier this month. It was a lot of fun but the girls really could care less about the game. They still had fun just being with each other!

Some of the sweet girls before the game. I love that they all still wear bows and usually don’t even complain about it!

I love these two and they love each other so much!

Fun part Jayci, Korbyn, and some of the other girls got on the big screen. It happened so fast that I only got like 2 crappy pictures but here is proof!

Now on to Father’s Day…since I work Saturday and Sunday nights we celebrated Father’s Day on Friday. Jay got off work early and we just spent the whole afternoon and evening together. It was such a good day.

We started the day off by going to the Flying Fish for lunch. We love that place! Korbyn chowed down on some fish. Of course the kid will eat pretty much everything!

Several months ago Jay redid the fire alarm system at the Museum of Discovery and one of the guys gave him free passes for the 4 of us. We decided that this day would be perfect. I took pictures on my camera but not very many because my battery died so here are just a couple of instagram photos.

Here is Korbyn playing in the little kid area with a fire truck.

Jayci and the skeleton. We loved the museum. It was fun watching them explore all the exhibits.

Lastly, we went to a shopping strip and did a little shopping and then ate dinner. While we waited for our seats we gave Jay his Father’s day gifts. He has been saying for months how he wanted stuff for his office. I made him the thing below and another thing the kids finger painted (that I didn’t get a picture of).

Oh and to be completely honest I stole the below idea from another blog that I found on Pinterest. You can find the original idea here. You can tell I didn’t change it up much but it really didn’t need changing. Her’s was SO good!522539_10151207040931632_1408639188_n

Okay well I think I am pretty much caught up for now. We haven’t been up to much lately since it’s been so dang hot out. Hope everyone is staying cool!

Splish Splash Korby was taking a Bath

All on a Tuesday night….HA!

This was Korbyn’s first bubble bath and boy did he enjoy it. He did however try to eat the bubbles several times. He quickly found out that they were not that tasty!

I am so behind on blogging. I need to blog about our end of the year softball party and about Father’s day but those pictures are on our back up hard drive so I have to find it first…Oops. It’s here somewhere, I would die if I lost it because it literally has ALL of our pictures on it.

Anyway, Jayci has been going to VBS this week both in the morning and in the evening time. We love VBS. This is like the fourth one she has gone too. LOL. She loves to be around other kids and I love the little bit of a break that it provides and the fact that she is learning all about Jesus is wonderful too, of course.

004

Pure Happiness!

005

I have picasa downloaded onto our computer and it still allows me to use Picnik so that is where I edit all of my pictures. I know there are other places but I can never remember so I just use the same one.

007-001

I love his blue eyes. He is getting too big though. Just a little update on Korbyn. He is now 13 almost 14 months old.

011-001

He is talking up a storm. He can say Momma, Dada, Jayci, dog, ball, bite, baby, mine, NO, hi, and bye-bye.

020

He LOVES bath time and to dance. The baby has “Moves like Jagger.” Ha. He will bust a move anytime hears music. I keep trying to get a video of him but he is so quick that I keep missing the good stuff.

027

He literally smiles 90% of the day. Of course he does get fussy but overall he is a happy baby.

017

If you follow me on facebook, instagram, or twitter then you probably saw a picture of him in his daddy’s boots yesterday. Well here he is in his boots last night. He was so funny trying to walk in them at first.

033036

Well, it is hot as…well you know, here. So we have been spending most of our time inside. I really would love to take the kids swimming and to play outside but the heat is unbearable. Also, my pale baby would be sunburned in a minute.

Hope everyone is have a fabulous summer!

Yum Yum Watermelon

I love both my kids so much! However, this blonde hair, blue eyed babe has steals my heart on a daily bases. I think it’s a combination of his sweet smile, the way he walks up to me holding his arms up for me to hold him safely, and the fact that he can’t talk back just yet. Winking smile

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We will be spending the day at the ballpark and then I will be working Saturday and Sunday night! Oh Joy! (insert sarcasm). Really I’m blessed to have a job I like and I get to be home with my kids during the week. Perfect!

Last Day of Kindergarten

Okay so I am a few weeks behind but I’m going to catch up. Well at least with one post.

Jayci finished kindergarten on May 18th. Their teachers had a wonderful idea to go to the zoo on the last day of school. I think this was such a good idea because it lets the end of the year end on a good note instead of a sad note. We LOVED Mrs. H. I am also so sad that I did not get a picture with Jayci and her. It was just a bunch of craziness at the zoo!

Now onto pictures!

Jayci and M trying to figure out which way to go.005

Jayci and her friend, K. These girls act like sisters.

016

018

After lunch we went across the street and let the kids play at War Memorial Stadium. This stadium is where the Arkansas Razorbacks play sometimes. Of course, the boys LOVED that and the girls had fun too.

037

Jayci and M. Love these sweet girls. They have become such good friends through kindergarten and playing softball together.

042

After lunch and the stadium we went back to the zoo and the animals were out and about!

045

We may have given this guy a goldfish cracker…(Shh!)

050

I love this bear. He (or she) looks like he is posing for the camera!

056

Kindergarten was such a good experience for us. Jayci learned so much this past year. She can count and write past 100, she is starting to read and spell, I’m sure the list could go on. We have loved Mrs. H. I pray we get a 1st grade teacher that we will love and that will challenge Jayci to learn all that she can.

One Year Check Up and Birthday Party!

Today we went to Korbyn’s 1-year check-up. He is now 21.8lbs and 30 1/4 inches tall. Oh and we are also going to see an allergist because we are pretty sure he is allergic to eggs but just need to know for sure how severe it may be.

Here he is waiting to go back to the room.319880_10151091194946632_509186631_13489338_247719488_n

Okay now onto big birthday party! I have to say I had been planning and doing stuff for his party since about Easter. When I first started thinking of his party I wanted to do a Cat In the Hat theme. I had found so many ideas on Pinterest. However, all those wonderful ideas overwhelmed me quite a bit. So instead I just went with a color theme: Teal blue and Orange. It was perfect! I still got lots of ideas off of pinterest. Two of the main blogs I went to are here and here. They both were cute.

This party was a very big DIY party for me. I made most of all the decorations including the wreath; banner; decorated the cupcake stand, and the party hats.

The instructions on how to do the banner can be found here.

002

The wind was blowing which made for a nice day but terrible for keeping things pretty.

003

The scrap fabric wreath I made. LOVE it. It turned out perfect. I think I will hang it in his room.

018

The birthday hats. Instructions on how to do these can be found here.

022

My sweet niece Bella

023

Laiken, Kirsten, & Jayci in their party hats. And I’m pretty sure that is Brayden but it could be Brody. They are twins and I can never tell them apart. I just know they are super cute boys!

The cake and cupcakes were made by my sister, Carrie. She does an excellent job and puts up with my neurotic issues on how it has to be perfect. Oh and she also made it without eggs since we think he could be allergic.

008009

The cake-pops were made by Custom Cakes & Creations. You can find their facebook page here. Let me just go ahead and take a minute to talk about their excellent customer service. Y’all last week was so crazy with softball, dance, and birthday party stuff that I completely forgot to order the cake-pops. I went into the store Friday and asked if they could do these for me. The friend of the owners that was helping her said they could do something but wouldn’t be what I wanted. Well, I said thanks anyway but that’s okay. I called back about an hour later and asked if they could do something different and the answer was still no. Well, Cyndee the owner called me right back and talked to me and I’m sure noticed I was totally desperate and said she could do them but they would be all white with the colored swirls. Okay I said and was thrilled. Then I went to pick them up and they were PERFECT. I was so happy with them. Cyndee was so excellent to work with!!

011

Thanks to my husband who painted my once red bucket white so it would match the party! We served orange crush and water.

015

I did not get a lot of pictures of our party guests. I’m really bad at that but I just get busy with everything else.

2012-05-06

Present time. He received some very nice toys and clothes!

2012-05-061

Cake time! That is the hat that I made for him also. I’m surprised he kept it on but once he got his cake that was all that he was worried about!

2012-05-062

Finally, Mommy and Daddy with the birthday boy. Sister, Jayci, was off running around somewhere…We had such a fun time at his little party. It was quick and to the point. I was so happy to do a lot of his stuff myself because it just made it more special. I am not very creative but I am resourceful enough to find out how to do things.

We thank all of our friends and family on coming out to help us celebrate our big boy turning ONE! I can’t believe it went by SO fast!
