Jayci praying

As some of you know Jay is usually the one to put Jayci to bed at night. Well this week with Jay being out of town I have had the pleasure of doing this task. Usually our bedtime routine consists of calling Daddy, reading a book, and I will say a prayer. Well the last couple of nights I decided to ask Jayci if she wanted to pray or just wanted me to do it. She said "I pray." So who was I to argue with that. Both nights her prayers go something like this; " Jesus, God, some words I don't understand, Amen." And both nights it has brought tears to my eyes. It amazes me how much influence we have on our children.

Tonight as it storms there has been really loud thunder. Jayci gets scared and begins to cry " Thunder scare me." So I go in there and tell her it is just noise and we pray for Jesus to keep her safe. I'm not sure how much she actually understands about God and Jesus but I think she actually realizes that there is someone there other than Mommy and Daddy to take care of her. At least it helps when it is storming because this is not the first time prayer has worked for the scary thunder. This experience has made me realize my baby is not such a baby anymore.
