Princess Camp

This week a business near us held a Princess Camp for girls of different ages. Jayci loves princesses and I just thought it would give her something fun to do. They played dress up, did fashion shows, learned about manners, and becoming a well rounded princess. They talked about being honest, kind, and all that other good stuff.  This is why I signed her up for it. Not because she isn’t any of these things but I just think she needs to know that being a princess is not all about just being pretty and having a crown. I want her to have a good heart as she gets older so I was glad that this camp focused on those issues too.

At the end of camp they put on a play about honesty and had a Coronation Ceremony. It was cute. Our local theater is putting on Cinderella this weekend and next so the actual Cinderella was there today to present them with their “princess bracelets” and roses.

I think she had a really good time. 009

2-months-old

Korbyn,

You are 2-months-old. We are so blessed with you in our family. You are growing so much! Some things you are up to:

You are 11lbs 15oz (58 percentile)

You are 23 inches long (55 percentile) 005

You are starting to smile more and more. It is the sweetest thing. In this picture you are smiling at Jayci. You love her so much and she loves you too!

You really want to suck your thumb. However, I am doing everything I can to stop you. I give you a paci and you take it okay but eventually spit it out. We will see who wins this battle! HA.

009

You wear 0-3 months clothes and size 1 diapers. However, as you will see below we are going to start using cloth diapers.

015

You are holding your head up so good.

You are eating about every 3 hours. When you took a bottle this weekend from Daddy you ate 6 ozs!

031

You are sleeping all night still. You go to bed between 9-10 and wake up anywhere between 5-7 in the morning. Mommy loves this!

038

You are such a sweet baby. The only times you really cry is when you are hungry or sleepy. You love riding in the car unless you are hungry of course. You are VERY serious about your food!

4th of July

Well I made it through my first weekend back at work. Saturday was tough. I have to admit I was on the verge of tears all day and then started crying about an hour before I left and continued until I got almost to work. It was crazy! Once I got to work I was fine and I actually had a good weekend. I have amazing co-workers that are fun to work with so that helped too. 020

Anyway, back to today…. I slept most of the day since I had to work last night. Once I woke up we got ready and went and picked up our Jayci girl. She had been in Tennessee all weekend with my aunts and my dad. She had so much fun. Once we picked her up we ate dinner and went to some friends house in our neighborhood. It was fun. All of their neighbors hang out outside and shoot fireworks. We enjoyed it and it was just relaxing to not have to fight a crowd. 008

All the kids…. I just realized Korbyn is the only boy in this picture.

005

My sweet babies. Korbyn looks so big in this picture to me. We go tomorrow for his 2 month check up so I am interested to see how long he is and what percentiles he is in now.

006

Such a daddies girl!

027

Well I hope all of you had a fantastic 4th of July weekend. Have a good week! Jayci starts Princess Camp tomorrow so we will see how that goes!?!

Full of Knots

That is how my stomach feels this evening. Not because I have a stomach bug or something. This is more like nervous knots. See tomorrow evening I will be returning to work after being off 8 weeks with my sweet little baby. I have enjoyed this time so much. I have enjoyed being able to spend time with my husband, my 5-year-old, and of course the baby. I know I only work 2 nights a week, Saturday and Sunday nights. It’s not that much and I love that I am able to have these hours. I just am nervous about leaving. My husband will be taking care of both kids. Well actually Jayci is out of town this weekend with some of my family so it will just be Jay and Korbyn tomorrow night. I know he will do a good job. He is such a good dad. I just am worrying for nothing.

The second part of my knots are coming from going back to work and being able to remember how to do my job. See I am a pediatric nurse and even if I am lacking in confidence I better find it by the time I hit that door tomorrow. Parents depend on me to take care of their child and be able to know what I am doing. I know I will get back into the swing of things but I at least hope my sweet co-workers will go easy on me and answer all my questions. I almost feel like I did the first day I came off of orientation and took patients for the first time on my own.

Well that is my ramble. I just wanted to get it out and sharing on my blog helps me feel a little better. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I am going to soak up as much time with Korbyn as I can and try not to spend all my time crying. Because trust me that is pretty much all I have wanted to do today.

The Last Time…

A blog, Confessions from a Mom, decided to do a post on the last time you did certain stuff. I thought it was kind of fun so I decided to join her. Please don’t judge me on the last time I did most of these things. Enjoy!

The Last Time You...
...took a shower: Yesterday (I had somewhere I had to go

...shaved your legs: Yesterday as well…I’ve been wearing lots of skirts and dresses because it’s so hot. So I try to shave them at least once a week.

...got your hair cut, colored or professionally styled:Some time in April I think. Maybe it was March? Either way it was before Korbyn was born.

...wore mascara: Today…if the left over from yesterday counts.

...read a non-children's book: May of 2010? Like before I graduated nursing school. That is really sad!

...cleaned your kitchen: Yesterday…well technically I just put up dishes and wiped down countertops. I still need to sweep and mop. Maybe I’ll get to that…eventually?

...changed the sheets on your bed: hmmm…maybe 3 weeks ago…eww. Now I have to change my sheets TODAY! Please don’t judge.

...kissed your children: about five minutes ago

...took a vacation: Well Jay and I went for a weekend away back in November. We have technically never been on a big vacation.

...took a vacation... without the kids: The above was for our 5 year anniversary so it was without Jayci

...went to the gym: ….Yea I have NO idea

...talked to your mother (in person or on the phone): yesterday

...told your spouse you loved him/her: This morning when he left for work.

Smile!

I thought I would take a little time and share Korbyn’s latest trick with you…

Smiles! I just love this toothless grin. These pictures were taken on my phone so they are not the greatest quality but I still LOVE them. He has actually been smiling a little bit for a couple of weeks now but this is the first time I have caught one on camera. I think pretty soon he will learn: Mommy=Camera=Smile! Ha.

 photo 2 photo 3

I just thought this was a sweet picture. He is holding Jayci’s hand. She loves him so so much. Sometimes it drives me absolutely crazy because she is always in his face but I just try to be patient because I know one day she is not going to like him so much….

 photo 1

And one more big smile to leave you with. How can you just not want to kiss those sweet cheeks! Eek I am so in love!

Father's Day

Just wanted to do a quick update poolside. Jay did only have to work half a day so we got to come to his dad's house and spend some time.
Here is Jay, Jayci, and Korbyn. I had the long sleeve shirt on Korbyn but then it was shaded so we took it off of him. He LOVES the water. I promise he is awake in this picture. His eyes are just closed from the sun.

This is Jay's dad holding Jay's brother, C. Oh yeah he's 15.

And to add to their silliness here is C holding their dad.

Here is a picture of little man floating and just chillin' in the pool.

Oh and just in case you are wondering Huggies will hold a LOT of liquid. I couldn't find little swimmers in his size. I guess they don't make them?

Okay well I hope all of you had a very Happy Father's Day. I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband/dad for my kids and great father's to set examples.
